<VV> Trailer insurance

Generally speaking (your state might be an exception, but probably not - I
was chided for making a blanket statement earlier), for liability coverage
when being towed (or just attached to the car), the insurance is INCLUDED in
your auto policy. Coverage for the trailer itself (damage to it) would
require an endorsement to the auto policy - for the value of the trailer.
Boat trailers are usually covered under the boat's policy (for damage or
theft).

When parked, (detached from the tow vehicle) the liability is under your
homeowner policy. Someone trips over the tongue and gets hurt, as an
example.

Stan has already spoken to the Canadian - US reciprocal agreements.

If anyone is STILL concerned, just carry your car policy with you.

Attachments (if any) are scanned with anti-virus software.
