<VV> Corvair batteries article in Communique

Hi Crawford,

I am the author of this article. I believe I have seen examples of the Delco
special-order battery (557A). I believe it has all-plastic case like the one
sold by New Castle Battery. Or are you saying that the Delco-sold item has a
tar top?

I was reading the very interesting article in the Communique about the
Corvair batteries and there is an important error in the article. The
article concludes with a statement that there isn't an original Corvair
battery available but in fact, the Delco battery is still available by
special order at Chevy dealers. Delco part number is 557A.  I just ordered
mine two months ago and it took about four weeks to deliver. As the article
points out, the Delco brand lettering faces the wrong way in 61-64 cars; the
label the on current battery still faces the wrong direction from the viewer
unless you are employing it in a 1960 model...
