if you think its a fuel issue , try "cuffing" each carb ,  put the  palm of 
your hand in a cuff shape over the carb while running it about 1000 -  1500 
rpm.let off just before it stalls. this puts vacuum in places its not  supposed 
to be and stirs things up in the bowl. this is entirely different than  choking 
it.if its a dirt issue it may just stir it up and make it run ok for a  while 
.if this makes it run ok , plan on taking the top off and cleaning it  
anyways. it will not likely last unless its a gob of moisture you forced thru  the 
main jet. sometimes on an older carb like this you can introduce carb clean  
thru the bowl vents and get it better that way.  this is what i call  "backyard 
mechanics" but it sometimes helps you figure out where to start or  even if 
you are a lucky person , fix it.
