The Buick Club of America recently held its national convention (July
12-15) here in Rochester, MN. Interestingly, there are reportedly no
BCA members in Rochester. The local paper reported about 600 cars. The
cars (Buick only car corral) were parked in Mayo park behind the Civic
Center and on several downtown streets that were closed off for the
convention. This made it really easy for the public to take a Buick
tour. The vendors and special displays (old and big-bucks cars) were
housed inside the civic center arena. The convention center also had
ample meeting rooms.

The convention hotel (Kahler, $79.00 per night) and alternates were
downtown about 2 block from the Civic Center. Tours were to the Spam
Museum and Hormel House, Mall of America, Plummer House and Mayowood
Estate, Elmers Car and Toy Museum, and a junkyard (how cool is that!).
The awards banquet was Saturday night with a children's pizza party (12
and under) running simultaneously).

Btw, Rochester, MN has a population of about 125K.
