The glove box insert does indeed compress along the "Y" creases in the side walls to allow the interior to be slipped in below & from behind the dash. The upper left hand corner of gloveboxes w/ the lit interior option has a rectangular tab of metal where the switch plunger lives, that prevents the cardboard insert from being installed from the front. No amount of pushing twisting or tweaking will get it past this feature. Pinch the sides of the cardboard in while pressing down on the top & bottom. You'll be able to compress the height about 7/8" to allow it to be easily slipped in from underneath & behind. Once in, push the walls out to align with the holes in the dash. Takes 5 minutes. Been there, done that.....3 weeks ago. Thanks for the listers who helped.
