     would it be better low end pulling with smaller intake valves like 95hp heads?

  Smitty Says:  Tim it isn't a sedan  It's got some weight and you are pulling bigger tires to boot.  95s have the same size valves as all Corvairs but 140s.  Next time you go to the mountains get down in the gears.  There is no reason to ever pull a hill at any less than 2,000 RPM.  2,500 is better (unless you want to fry it again).  Let it sing to 4,000 before you upshift.
