Sorry can't stay out of this.....  The British also serve lager beer 
(German/European/American most prevalent method of making beer).  If you are in the UK 
on a warm day you can always ask for a lager (or a lager and lime) and get a 
beer served cold the way you might be used to drinking it.  Or you can drink a 
traditional British beer and learn just how good they are.
