SnapOn makes a 1/4" drive, 1/4" swivel socket that works very well.  I 
use a 24" 1/4" drive extension and I didn't have to remove anything to 
get the heater blower out.  To get the housing out, I think I had to 
lower the right side exhaust (but, I don't remember for sure).
