A sedan has a "B" pillar, and steel frames around the
door glass. "Sport Sedan" was always Chevy's term for
a 4-door hardtop: no B-pillar, and frameless door
glass. It started in the 50's when manufacturers gave
special names to the hardtop body style: Riviera,
Fiesta, Bel Air, Catalina, Montclair, Crown Victoria,
Newport were all names for 2 or 4-door hardtops BEFORE
they (with a few exceptions, like Fiesta) became
separate model lines.
