Correction of Mis-conceptions:>>  Will Smith is correct on the way the over 
running clutch works...but don't forget that the solenoid on the cranking motor 
has two coils:  One is the "Pull-in coil" and the second is the "hold-in" 
coil....If the drive disengages prior to the engine starting and exceeding the 
cranking motor speed, then the culprit is the hold-in coil which failed to keep 
the plunger assembly in the forward position and the drive engaged.  The only 
impact of the "over running clutch" is when the speed of the engine's ring 
gear is faster than the cranking motor and the clutch then "over runs" and 
disengages the pinion from the ring gear.

Ryan, Change the solenoid....
