Well what would be the downside in a Corvair engine? Heat buildup, 
heat dissipation in the
bores, non compatible metals, sleeve insertion problems, all of the 
aforementioned?
Have you talked with a manufacturer or engineer about the problem?
  NO I don't mean Smitty, JVH or JimB !!! <GGG>
