Ryan,
I read this too....BUT IT'S TOTALLY WRONG! Current oils must meet Spec GA  
which requires a really stiff oil test to show that there isn't more wear on  
flat tappets (i.e., lifters) than with previous oils. In fact, the spec requires 
 LESS wear.
