<VV> Shifters - one more time!

Well kids, I've been writing my article about "quick shiften" Corvairs and 
noted two missing reference measurements...

Do you have a Corvair with an aftermarket "quick shift" kit?   I'm looking 
for those with the tall spacer between the floor and the shifter base, both 
early and late model cars.  If you have one of these modified shifters, would you 
be so kind as to measure the 3-4 shift distance for me?

Here's how:
Fully shift into 3rd gear
Measure straight forward from the rear of the shift ball to a convienent 
reference point.
(LM heater duct under the radio, EM radio housing or face)
Record the measurement
Fully shift to 4th gear
Repeat the measurement
Subtract the numbers to get the actual movement of the shifter knob.
