Hi, jetting ( or needling ) at high altitude can be a pain. In even Denver
( only 5000 ft ) With my toy cars, I remember chasing carb mixtures to the
extreme.... and the worst part, every time a cloud came over ( denser air, I
suppose... ) the required mix went up / down about 20% .... translated " you
are screwed" ....
*********
As I remember, more compression and more nitro helped, also changed header
length a lot ... but still a very sensitive beast .

Maybe the trick for a vair would be to jet real small ( 46/48? ) and build
in a manual choke(s)with a long lever for sensitive adjustments ... better
to have the right mixture than to worry about if you get absolute full oopen
venturi ( usually not necessary anyway... if it were, you needed a bigger
carb in the first place.... ).

A High altitude leaves a bad attitude ... (g) ..

This would be a great app for a wide band double bank meter .... plus the
manual chokes or mix needle ....
*********
good luck to the thin air wannabees
