My son participated in his first valve cover race last night and he (and I) had fun. Our untried, untested design did well making it into the third (or was it forth) round losing to the girl who eventually won the whole sheebang. No, it wasn't Helen Smith, the dynasty is over, she's been dethroned. She put up a valient effort but lost to Dave (somethingoranother) who then lost to Paulina the champeen. Valve cover races are a lot more fun than I thought they would be. We were a little crowded on the ship but that's kind of a good thing, a lot of people came to cheer the competetors on. Speaking of competetors, I wan't to post a public thanks to Mr and Mrs Smitty. My son's car blew a wheel in a race and they came through with a spare and tools to do the job. Thanks guys, you truly have the proper competetive spirit. My son's pit crew screwed up and tightened the wheel retaining nut too much which had a little to do with his loss to Paulina.

Lots of fun and they had pizza and wings. It just doesn't get any better than that.

I just put my car in the park for car display and I'm parked next to Norm Witte's turbo. Wow, what a car. I then made the 30 mile hike back to the hotel. I need a nap now.....
