Well, we made it to minneapolis last night from Oshkosh. Great but HOT
day at the airshow. Now, today, just a leisurely 3 hour drive north to
home. Forcats for Mpls today..hi of 102, 104 for tomorrow. Yuck.

About 15 miles before Tomah, WI I noticed my blinker switch was feeling
"wrong" pulled out to pass, and left blinker got stuck ON. No amount
of switch fiddling would shut it off. I could feel it click to neutral
and right, but the left just kept on blinking. Funny thing is..while I
screwing with the blinker, my daughter calls my wife on the
cellphone....wife is explaining how, at the moment Dad is trying to get
the bloinker to shut off..daughter asks....seriously...."Did he check
the blinker fluid?" this is a daughter who can't hardly figure out
where to put in the oil.

Anyway, got to the Perkins in Tomah, trying to figure out what to do to
stop the blinker..can't pull the bulbs..then no tail/stop lights can't
disconnect a wire....same problem...then realized I could just unplug
the flasher under the dash. That at least stopped the blinker from
flashing. Then I just had to drive thru the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro
freeway system..at night...in traffic..with no signals. But that was
OK. I decided better to have people think I was an idiot for a second
forgetting to signal, than have them think I was a total dumb ass
blinking for 170 miles.

Other than that....just over 3,000 miles this trip, no troubles except
the clutch cable adjusting thing...which I still don't know what
happened..it's been perfect since I adjusted. And the blinker trouble.
Gonna have to order a few little parts for THAT now I imagine. Used
about a quart of oil over the whole trip, still averaging 27 mpg. The
car really enjoyed the 94 octane Sunoco gas. Now, back in MN best I
can get is 91. But back to what I've disscovered is cheap gas...only
2.91 here!

Tim for breakfast then home.

Tim...almost back to Bovey
