Hers is a turbo. It is possible it was not fully topped off at the last fillup. Also, I doubt anyone was going as slow as 70 on I-95, and I know she was estimating they were going about 80.

  <<err Isn't it a 14 gallon tank ? I get about 20 mpg at 70 mph (I-95 
limit) 
with a 110/PG/3.55. Even at 18 mpg should be easily good for three 
hours 
with about a two gallon reserve. Three hour expectation sounds 
reasonable.
