I'm going to toss in a random thought....have you checked your carb mixture? ANY air-cooled engine can and will overheat if the mixtures get too far off....in an aspirated Vair, carb synchronization (or lack of same) can also cause over-heating for no apparent reason. Richening the mixture a touch may help. John
