My horrid, er I mean, wonderful, 1965 has the horrid red plastic thingy.  what's up with the 67-69 jazz?  Those later model late models had funny looking seats and bulgy knobs on the dash. At least they still had the wonderful late model styling still!!!

You're refering to the red plastic castle terminal that's on the side of
the frame rail by the battery on the '67-9's, right?
