Hey Chris,

There are no stupid questions. Only stupid people.

Real answer:  you'll "grow" oil if it leaks internally
into the crankcase.  Oil smells gassy. Bad. Change the
pump and oil immediately.
If it leaks with all the screws down tight, also bad.
All the combustion should be INSIDE the engine.
If the engine starves for fuel at hight RPM, that's
liveable, but the pump isn't doing its job.
