Some other things need to be said too. I have been traveling to and staying
in Buffalo on business for the last decade and change. Let me tell ALL of
you, that at $80 a night, the convention organizers are getting ya'll better
rooms cheaper than I've ever been able to get in the area!

The cheapest motel rooms I was ever able to get were $70 at the Days Inn
over the bowling alley (not kidding!) in Hamburg just off the
Thruway......and THAT rat-trap burnt down in January! Buffalo is NOT cheap!
The "$29.95" rooms at the Red Roof have always cost over $100.....the
Holiday Inn out by the airport was $145 ten years ago! If the Bills are
playing at home, the rates double if you can find one at all! It's New York
people.......not East Log Jam, Kentucky! Buffalo may be a long way from the
Big Apple, but Albany makes damn-sure that the tax-structure for one is the
tax-structure for all, and Niagara Falls and the Casinos are just up the
road. (If you're carping about the cost of rooms....wait 'til you buy a tank
of gas!......the 35 mile one-way trip to the Seneca Indian reservation west
of Buffalo for "tax-free" gas is well worth the trip.....to buy gas for 10
cents more a gallon than any station in Ohio!)

Count your blessings! I'm simply not sure whose life got threatened to get
THAT good a room-rate for the Convention, but I'm obviously a LOT more
impressed than some on this list. FWIW, I live in Ottawa County, Ohio.
This is a MAJOR tourist area, and if you can GET a room in July (a
functional impossibility), it's gonna cost you at least a couple Large per
night! The organizers of the Bufalo Convention deserve "Atta Boys!" for
this, not the brick-bats they seem to be getting!
