Running at 0° isn't right. Normally it WON'T run at 0°. Harmonic balancer
slipping? Are you using a timing light with an 'advance dialup'? Maybe it
should be set to zero ;).

Subject: <VV> 140 hitching/missing HELP

I jinxed myself. Car was running ok. I adjusted the timing, clamp was loose
and moved. Under light throttle the 140 gets a sort of jerk or hitch or skip
deal going on. It will also do it while coasting. Seems to idle fine. If I
keep the timing at about 0 it's ok, although it will spark knock a little
starting off. . It spark knocks like mad if the timing is at about 8
degrees. The warmer it gets the worse it is. I'm about to swap out the
Pertronix to see if that is overheating or going bad. Any other ideas?????

It's a 140, 4speed. JUST rebuilt. Was doing this prior to rebuild. I don't
want to ruin my engine....

Any thoughts appreciated.

HELP!
