Double check - it likely says lead "substitute".

Actually, I have a container of super concentrate lead additive that I
picked up at Wal*Mart made by "CD-2".

No, I'm not running it in the Corvair.

"Lead (as used in gasoline) is highly toxic and cannot be safely "added"
outside a gasoline refinery. Hence nobody ever offered it as an
aftermarket additive. My brother is a (Master's level) chemist and used
toluene (sp?) back in the '70's to boost the octane for his racing
Bimmer.
