Right now the weight of the spare is on the frame rail. Adding a lug nut 
like that would put all of the weight on the unsupported lug holes of the 
wheel. I would be concerned that over a long period of time this 
cantilevered stress would deform the center of the wheel. Have thought 
about (for almost three minutes now) a frame to go under the wheel that 
would avoid putting all of the stress on a small area.

Has anyone done this for a long period (years) ?
