<VV> Highrise air cleaner and tire clearance nutz

Am I missing something here?  4 or 5 of these nuts hold the wheel on the car and the wheel withstands all the forces of driving ...but supported by only two of them the wheel will deform while in the engine compartment?  If that is true everyone needs to be tossing out the flimsy steel wheels.
