<VV> '62 Wagon bolt holes

My '62 wagon has two bolt holes in the body under the rear bumper and a few inches on each side of the center.  They appear to be factory items with threaded attachments on the inside.  A '61 wagon doesn't have these holes.  It's my guess that they may be for an optional trailer hitch but I don't know for sure.  Does anyone have any definite info on them and if for a hitch, does anyone have one for sale?
