Subj: Mobil 1 for Vettes

Several yrs ago I read that the body design change of the Vette had raised
the engine temp enough to require a factory installed oil cooler or the use
of synthetic oil to prevent oil overheat/oxidation/solidification...Mobil 1
proved the least expensive of the two. If you've never seen oil
solidification it's an amazing site...totally solid...solid enough to stand
a screwdriver in without it falling over...ever! It was a real problem for
GM in the early 70s when they raised the operating temp of the engines to
clean up some emissions.
