<VV> Convertible top drains

Hi Anil.

If memory serves me, the water that gets to the tray along the rear
window travels down (gravity) and will go into those little open top box
structures before draining into the rockers.

Subject: <VV> Convertible top drains

I have a 66 Monza convertible which I am working on right now. The
interior of the car is completely out and I was doing some water leak
tests to make sure I sealed everything up correctly. What I am not quite
sure of is the drains in the rear corners under the back seat.
There are two rectangular "trays" which have drain holes and then right
next to each of the "trays" is a channel which runs back to front. Here
are my questions:

1) Is water supposed to normally run down the back corners into this
drain, I assume yes since I did see a decent trickle of water while I
had the hose directed to where the top meets the body.

2) Is the water supposed to fill that channel and then only overflow
into the "tray" with the drain? There seems to be no direct connection
between the channel and the "tray" so even once the water stops flowing
the channel stays full until the water evaporates.
Should I make a cutout between the "tray" and the channel so that the
water drains from the channel into the "tray"?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Anil
