Good morning Vair enthusiasts! What are the best fuel filters on the market
today to use for a 63 Monza? Thank you.

(Reply) I have had some very good experience using the stainless steel
screens being marketed by Grant Young the "Carbmeister." You can use the GM
"stone" filters which were common on most of their carburetors in the 50's and
60's. They can be purchased at most auto parts stores.

In addition to these I feel you need to install an inline filter at the
point right in front of the left rear wheel where the gas line is equipped with a
rubber flex line. I have always cut some from the steel line to allow the
hoses going to a Wix METAL filter. You really don't want to install a plastic
filter which could be punctured or broken by road debris (all of this is in
addition to a good filter sock in the pickup of a good clean gas tank).

As far as the model WIX (or other good quality METAL filter), just make sure
it is large enough and will fit the metal fuel lines. I change mine out
annually.

Hope this is of some help.
