Hi Everyone!

I examined in person this car the last time it was on e-bay, several months ago. (It was at an old car auction in Louisville last weekend and reached $8,500 with a reserve of $15,000). The car is very nice and original and starts right up and runs like an 800 mile Corvair should. The window sticker is still attached to the left rear window but is so faded to you really can't read it. It has just a few options, push-button AM radio (it works), Powerglide transmission and original whitewall tires. There are a couple of things that bother me about the car however. It has wheel well moldings which were not available on 500's and I think the car may have been repainted at some point. The paint had numerous scrapes and nicks, so it has been a while, but aren't the three Phillips screws that hold the door latch mechanism to the door supposed to be natural metal color? I understood that the doors were painted by Fisher Body without this latch which was added later. Anyone have any definitive answers on this? Thanks!
