  World Record Attempt

  "Classic Car Parade"

  Saturday, December 2, 2006
This event is an attempt to surpass the current "Parade of Classic Cars" record of 948 classic cars (30+ years old—driven a distance of 2 miles around a race track) held May 11, 2002 by the Hartogh Ford Museum in Hellegom, the Netherlands as recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records.
Open to any and all antique, vintage, classic, hot rod, street rod, low rider, street machine cars, trucks and specialty vehicles. All Clubs and individuals are invited to join at the departure point or at any point along the route more than 2 miles from the finish.
The Caravan will assemble in the Benton T.C.B.Y. parking lot at 1721 Landers Road. That’s Interstate 30, Exit 118, behind Colton’s Steak house on the Eastbound service road and Landers Road. Overflow parking available across Military Road at Enterprise Lanes and East across Landers Road in the Big Lot parking lot.
Departing at EXACTLY 10:00 a.m., with Saline County Sheriff’s escorts, the caravan will travel East on the Interstate 30 service road to Interstate 430. It will then go North on Interstate 430 and onto Interstate 630 and exit at Fair Park. That’s approximately 21.4 miles one way. The Toys for Tots collection station is in front of the Little Rock Zoo entrance. Anticipated arrival is 10:45 a.m.
The cost? One unwrapped, new toy that costs $10 or more.
Participants will complete the registration certificate ("PARTICIPATION AFFADAVIT"), below, providing the Guinness required information. Certificates will be collected at the finish line (the toy donation point). Only those vehicles over 30 years old (1976 and older) and driven the last 2 miles will be counted towards the world record. The total number of cars will be counted in a new to be requested Guinness category.
After donating the toys, the vehicles may be displayed in the Ray Winder Field parking lot for any length of time. It is suggested that participating clubs have a banner or door decals for recognition by spectators.
