My '88 Reatta has a touchscreen. Also nine computers and it's own LAN. 
Built-in scan tool. 28 MPG on 87 PON at speed to Cedar Key and back. They 
are really extremely reliable particularly considering that it was pushing 
the electronic envelope when it came out. There are lots of electronic 
systems in aircraft that are older (FBW F-16 is 1975 vintage, all digital 
version a few years later).

Had two failures this year in our 92 TranSport - one coil and a fuel 
injection relay. Neither took more than five minutes to diagnose or to replace

GM has had electronics in cars since 1961 (and I don't mean the radio). 
They usually last a long time.
