Unless by Sunday driver you mean "at my local performance venue" I 
think the answer is no.  They are really intended for high RPM use 
where every HP is worth it.

Corvairs have the valves splayed out at different angles than an SBC.  
And the 140 valves are at a different angle than the small valve heads.
