This is where I differ from the possible "mainstream"??? And most likely the
reason that I do not feel as some others do...

Corvairs [ old cars,etc.] represent to me a "Toy"...something, that when I
drive it, brings back the simple / uncluttered /carefree days of past decades.
When deciding WHAT car I'd like to have "AGAIN".....the 1st criteria
was....which car was the most "FUN" to drive..... 2nd.... to own [$$$$$$] and 3rd
...easiest for this aging person to work on. 4th...has good support and
friendly people in the "Clubs".

Having lived in SoCal all my life....no need for "blood, sweat and
tears"......too many great machines out there to buy......I'm talking of derelict / half
finished , needing minimal $$$/ Time to make them "fun" again....cars.....or
"hot deals"......and I do have patience....gggg Having only purchased 3 NEW
vehicles in my life...no need for something to be "perfect".

I have 7 Vair powered vehicles.......the highest investment being
$3,400.00......the highest time to complete is 11 weeks [ 200 hrs.? / all fun!] They
are all licensed, insured, garaged [ except the 64cp]..and I can jump in any
of them at a whim, even the 64!

Of the 7 vehicles only 2 are vehicles that I "had to have", my sandcar and
my v8.......all the rest are "chance encounters"

My Vair boat.......every man has to have at least one boat..........and they
couple would not let me "not buy" $400 with a carb screw embedded in a
piston....

My 66 Vert........Tahoe '99 was coming up....certain persons here were
insinuating I was a "flake"......one week of "search" and it was the one costing
the least, requiring the least $$ and time to get ready...and every man has
to have at least one Vert! gg

My '69........$800 for the 11th to the last '69 made..49k orig. / one
owner.......no rust.....a driver.....body is so ruff you'd think about using
RhinoLiner......but everyman has to have a "stocker" if he wants respect from Bill
H.! gg

My 66 Turbo cp.......Was actually looking for a LM Cp with 95 hp /
PG............but all deals fell thru........and everyman has to have a Corvair Turbo!
ggg

My 64 cp// 140 pg / 3rd owner...paperwork including the "Order
sheet"........it is a PG........and everyman wants respect from Smitty! ggggg

So...if any of them, or all, get washed away in a Tsunami........I'll just
wait 3 weeks and buy more....

Can you blame me for not getting "protective"??

'69 stocker, '66 vert, '65 v8, '66turbo, Vairboat, Sandcar, 64 cp = $13k
total..
