And the most important. I generally have two goals in engine work:
1) not to have to do it again
2) if I do, it will come apart easily
and getting everything clean and smooth is critical.

Wound up spending a lot of time with the wire brush end of the grinder 
getting it to an acceptable condition. Pro probably could not afford to 
spend an hour on that one piece but an amateur can.

Thanks to all who had suggestions and told me that the baffle will not 
install rong so long as the hump is up.
