...driver side front, just ahead of the wheel well.    At least on 
the turbo cars and 2.5 Imprezas.   Others back when, like the XT6, 
had the battery farther ahead, practically behind the headlight 
pod.   The XT-6 also used a type 51 battery.    Stole one out of the 
XT-6 here, a while back, to use in an early 'Vair, Subaru was stored 
anyway, used the battery before it went bad from sitting.
