Don't forget why they call it "resistor wire". With a shorted/bridged spark plug, it won't fire and near the plug there will be no signal but there may well be enough at the distributor end to trigger the light. Problem would be evident on a scope. But my bet is on either a piece of carbon under the electrode or a track around the boot. Padgett
