Hi,

The gas tank did not leak at all after that crash, but I did not keep the car. I wish I had but the insurance company took it, as I was unaware that I had any choice in the matter at that time.

The gas tank is well protected behind the front crossmember, so it's safe there.

My steering wheel was a little bent because I only had a lap belt so my nose hit the wheel, and fortunately, the wheel bent more than my nose !

The windshield survived as well too.

Sounds like you survived yours OK ?

Happy Corvairing,
Chaz

Did you gas tank survive? I had a seam leak a little bit after the crash. The gasoline evaporated almost quicker than it leaked out. My after-market steering wheel was bend but my windshield didn't even crack. In fact, I pulled it out and put it in my replacement car.
