Folks,

I haven't participated in VV in a while and might have missed discussions on
the latest appearance of Corvairs in the media. But in case no one noticed,
there's a good 8-page article, "Maligned or Malignant: The Real Corvair," in the
current (September-October) issue of Motor Trend Classic.

It quotes Dave Newell and some of Denise McCluggage's writings, and features
a '60 sedan (owned by Bryce Flinn) and a '65 Monza coupe (Ken Hand's). It
covers Nader ("...the consumer advocate declines comment"), the Mustang (the
issue's cover pictures a 'Stang fastback jumping in the chase scene of the movie,
Bullitt), the '60 Falcon and '62 Chevy II ("This was the beginning of the
Corvair's demise"), and the Greenbrier and Rampside, along with some very nice,
large photos.

The article begins on page 62 (coincidently, the year of the 'Vair's peak
production) and ends on page 69 (when, of course, production ended). How
appropriate! Check it out if you haven't already.

If y'all have, then never mind.
