<VV> turbo fuel

Help! Will someone from the 'learned faithful' give me some advice re
the fuel system in a '66 turbo? I just rebuilt the carb carefully and
have a fuel flow problem ('way too much of it and the car won't start).
My car has an auxiliary electric pump which, during the past couple of
years, worked great as an auxiliary. The car is not driven daily and
sits for weeks. Prior to cranking, I would turn the pump on for 15-20
seconds, then turn off and crank. Never had any starting problems.
Accelerator pump went bad so I rebuilt the carb and replaced the inline
fuel pressure regulator. Unfortunately, I threw away the old regulator
so I'm unsure of the previous setting; however, I think that it was
really low (like 2 psi !) Is there anyone out there that has this
setup? If so what do you set the pressure regulator at (plus any other
words of wisdom) Thanks. Rick Collins
