If you are pretty sure the cylinder part of the lock is trash then there is a simple cure.  Take a pair of waterpump-pliers, grab the ears of the switch, rock the pliers and the chrome part of the cylinder will pop off.  Now you can remove the retaining ring, pull the ignition switch out and either replace it or take it to a locksmith to see if he can repair it.
