I can tell that you're an avid internetter, because you don't capitalize, or
punctuate, anything ...
(My students don't even capitalize their own names anymore !)

Seriously though, a single PDF file for the entire magazine is the deal
breaker here, right ? Why not a couple of keystrokes, and save several, or
simply dump it to HTML, for faster download times, plus copy'n'paste work
better, to print out what we want (like the classified ads)

seems like there's lots of responses here from members that aren't fully
informed on the real simplicity of the process. saving an already
prepared newsletter to .pdf is only one added keystroke on a
computer...then uploading the file to a website is maybe a 10 minute
exercise . lastly, password access protection is easy...IMO, these are
only excuses not to do something vs recognizing the direction CORSA
should be taking to promote ourselves.

in all honesty, as the vintage promotions rep, as well as a club member
actively involved in prepping monthly club newsletter content, i
appreciate knowing that our efforts are available to a broader audience,
and more importantly, to potential new corvair owners who are very
comfortable with the internet. it's called marketing. in fact, over
the last 3-4 months, we've had several new club members specifically
tell us at their first meeting that a) they found us on the internet on
a standard google/yahoo "corvair club" search, and b) the quality of our
website and our newsletter are key reasons why they made the decision to
join. the bottom line is our club is growing because of our internet
efforts.

additional food for thought, i ran our vintage corsa web stats prior to
our 4/5 monthly meeting. keeping in mind that our daily hit avg towards
the end of march was between 500-700 hits per day, on monday, 4/2, the
day i posted and announced our april newsletter was available online,
our site received over 4,000 hits, and over 80% of all downloads from
our site were for our april newsletter and a few archive editions. you
can draw your own conclusions, but to me this is a no-brainer.

btw, i don't think anyone here is proposing the elimination of the hard
copy, but it would be pretty easy to establish options for members on
how to receive the communique' (mail, online, or both?)...many (most?)
current members will continue to want the hard copy, but for every
member happy with the online-only version, that's that much postage
saved to CORSA at a time when every nickel counts.

my 2 cents...and there's more change in my pocket :)
