<VV> LM Wheel Well Trim

No. You can usually count on any replacement/repair part that's from the
OEM to be of assembly line spec. That's because those parts are normally
produced with no regard as to whether it's for the assembly line or
repair. I used to do this very kind of work at GM, so I KNOW.

The only incident of exception that I've ever seen was the '66 Corsa
rear grill inserts that have splits in the corners. Seems that the last
batch that was run had a high incident of splits. How they ever ended up
in the supply system I haven't a clue, because normally such parts would
be deemed scrap and been tossed in the dumper at the point of
manufacture. The cause of the splits was (IMKO) simply too much pressure
on the die binder or a poorly maintained die. Especially on this kind of
part, splits make the part worthless. They cannot be repaired, and they
are awful looking, if not a safety hazzard (possibility of cutting
someone). So anyone out there with one of these parts should just bite
the bullet and toss the part in the dumper, because it's worthless
scrap. Can you believe that I've actually seen vendors trying to sell
this scrap part at swap meets? LOL
