IF it would do the 190% increase..YES....but more likely to gain 20% or less 
in the real world..

The ONLY  Cost effective device I ever found..during the 1973-4  Gas 
Crunch....

Was a DO IT YOUSELF  build it  kit from  parts from Radio Shack, etc..

For points ignition...  DWELL EXTENDER.. [ approx. $2  in parts]....you had 
to manually switch it on and off  for Highway use...no idling possible....

Would take a 6 mpg Pickup / camper / buggy / boat on trailer combo to 9-11 
mpg  every Vehicle ever tried on that I knew of....

My 63 Vette 327 / pg /4.11's would deliver  19 mpg  on a tank of fuel where 
the DE  was used maybe 60% of the tank.....trip to Vegas, etc...
