<VV> Running on 3-Cylinder Vair

The 1981 Caddy 4-6-8 system did not stop the spark, or fuel, it stopped
the valves in a cylinder (both intake and exhaust) from opening. This
was done by a solenoid connected to the fulcrum of the valve rocker.
Pull up on the rocker fulcrum and no valve action. Since no intake
opened, no fuel flowed into the cylinder. Since both valves were closed,
only friction losses from the piston. What was lost in compressing the
gas was mostly recovered upon the piston's decent, or since no intake,
nothing to compress.

This engine had DFI (digital fuel injection), but it was through a
throttle body (two injectors total), so individual cylinder cutoff was
not practical.
