<VV> Generator to Alternator...

Are you sure you do not already have the correct engine adapter?  Bolt on the 
Alt and see if the bottom of the "V"  lines up with the bottom of the "V" on 
the crank pulley.

Also...the 2 ears on the Alt. or engine adapter can be narrowed by 1/4" to 
get it to align....no need to wait  too long for the correct piece...

The stabilizing strap can be made at home in 3 minutes...any local hardware 
store sells strap...
