For a little extra expense initially think about upgrading from 2x4 to 2x6 studs. The benefit is more insulation for A/C or heating. Also for noise reduction so as not to bother neighbors or family. As for roof: pre-built trusses are cheap and you can get storage span for otherwise wasted space up there ( more bonus points from the wife). 100 amp electric minimum, more if you do woodworking, machining, welding (If you don't now you might in future). Lots of outlets!!! Windows nice for natural light but break-in point and heat /cool leakers. Also at construction is time to over anchor to foundation and go beyond code to secure for wind/ storm damage (hurricane ties, glueing roof sheathing to trusses etc). OOOH, OOOH, think about plumbing. A sink is a wonderful thing. These are some of my dreams. Good luck.
