Check the rubber hoses at each end of the under body fuel line.  You could 
be picking up some air from a split in a line or past the clamps.  The pump 
only works on liquids.  A coil problem generally shows itself after the 
engine compartment is pretty darn warm.  If the stones are plugged, the fuel 
will bypass them - but then you get dirt in the carbs.  Might be worth 
taking a look at them.
