<VV> OK is it true or not ?

However, nothing beats this. Back in the mid-70's I was living in Munich
Germany working for a Silicon valley company. The car ahead of me was a VW
bus and he was going around a big sweeping curve in an intersection.
Suddenly the rear end of the bus took a major hop because the ole' girl had
just laid an egg in the form of the entire engine. I remember the engine
spinning around as it slid thru the intersection on its oil pan and the rear
wheels of the bus taking on a sudden extreme negative camber. So much for
German engineering, it's not all great. This is one of those events in life
that you can re-play the tape of in your mind any time that you want.

The last actual rear engine mount failure I know of was in June of
2003. Paul Piche had a 66-69 mount fail in his 68 Ultra
Van. Fortunately, he was stopped at a stoplight when the engine
stopped running.
