<VV> High Volume Oil pump

I just found out how much and fast a stock oil pump will pump.  While manually turning the pump with my drill on new engine I neglected to put oil filter back on and had most of the oil pump on to the floor in 1 minute.  It was a little messy.  Ken

How that applies to an air cooled motor is open to discussion.

Ask any engineer....pumping loads are pumping loads, and ALL of them are
parasitic!  

FWIW, "stock" oil pumps move MUCH more oil than an engine can reasonably
handle, that's why there's a by-pass valve in the pump.  Just because a
little is good, a lot isn't necessarily better!
